AI claims the Mac Mini is dead

yes, i was just reading that in appleinsider.

i am thinking about buying a mac mini with a cinema display. the reason for this as opposed to getting an imac is that we already have an imac (so a different look would be nice) and that i can get an s-ips panel in the cinema display which i am told is better than the tn panel in the imac (which would be better suited to the photo editing i do).

i for one would be sorry if the mac mini is discontinued. but perhaps they are not selling well.

What about those of us with monitors and keyboards? Buy an iMac, already with a monitor and keyboard and mouse? Paying extra for a stuff we don't need?

I know people with older all-in-ones (Mac and PC) where it's time to upgrade the computer, but the monitor is fine. They have to get rid of the whole machine, with a perfectly good monitor.

Not so "Green"...

So, now forced to buy a Mac Pro? If they drop the price to $599....😱

Silly....
 
If this is true, I think it's terrible. There's a lot of us that don't want a built-in monitor and the corresponding cost just to stay current with Intel Macs.
