Apple is still planning to introduce a new AI-powered "Health+" service in 2026, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

Gurman revisited the rumor about a revamped Health app in the latest edition of his "Power On" newsletter. Apple is apparently planning to overhaul the Health app next year with a new Health+ service, featuring an AI assistant. Gurman said that it "could make Apple one of the first major tech companies to gain steam in the health AI chatbot space."

Earlier this year, Gurman said the AI-powered health coaching feature will offer personalized health recommendations accompanied by videos from health experts that inform users about various health conditions and ways to make lifestyle improvements. Nutrition tracking is also expected to be another big part of the revamped Health app.

Gurman also mentioned Apple's plans to introduce a revamped version of Siri with iOS 26.4, an AI-powered web search tool, and a redesigned version of Siri in iOS 27.

Why first? Whoop has an AI health bot for 2 years now
And others have pushed changes recently in the AI space.

I'm curious if they open up the Health settings with this move. Locking down the 3 rings unless you're using an Apple approved device has meant I don't care musch about it anymore since moving off of an Apple watch. This revamp will pressumably have the same issues.

Apple is struggling to get Apple Intelligence right, and they are going to lead with giving medical advice via AI? Siri-ously??

Leading in that "last place in Mario Kart" sort of way.
Surely they have a quiver of red shells & mushroom speed boosts ready to be deployed!

Right?
RIGHT!?
🤣

I’m just more curious about what heath trends/data they expect to surface with AI. Seems like you would probably be able to come up with the same insights on your own after spending about five minutes looking at the data your Apple Watch/Garmin/other wearable collected.

Also let’s be honest the most useful health recommendation is, "eat less, move more". Not something you need AI to point out.

Health + AI chatbot… what could possibly go wrong? I saw this amusing post on Reddit the other day, where the Bevel app’s chatbot started offering building services in London to a non-UK user 😂https://www.reddit.com/r/bevelhealth/s/nq8cACxiY4

That is hilarious.
Example 19,331 of why this technology is not even close to ready for the level of deployment that is getting "forced".

Kinda tired of all the "plus" stuff. Just means more subscriptions, more nickel and diming for everything. We already pay top dollar for expensive Apple hardware, we used to get quality services for that rolled in. I remember back in the day just owning a Mac meant you got all the .Mac, later iCloud features free, it was part of the ecosystem. Now we're still paying more than ever for the hardware, and the features are being stripped out and sold back to us as a premium subscriptions. Why buy Apple hardware anymore if to get everything out of it you have to buy a monthly subscription as well?

Plus for Apple = Minus for customers wallets

Meh...who wants Health+ ?

Health Pro™ is where the real action is, or maybe Health Ultra (only available with Watch Ultra 3)

Oh I'm sure this will be just great.
AI powered + Apple = "disaster"

Starting from scratch with the Health app is a good idea. (glad to see that)
That thing is just a junk drawer of all our data, with very little done to make actionable sense of any of it.

Tell that to all the people who’ve had life-saving heart surgery after their Apple Watch detected an abnormal heart beat (using ML/AI). 🙄
