Tell that to all the people who’ve had life-saving heart surgery after their Apple Watch detected an abnormal heart beat (using ML/AI). 🙄

That's a nice feature. This is not:

.....Gurman said that it "could make Apple one of the first major tech companies to gain steam in the health AI chatbot space."

First off, this is Gurman guessing, not Apple announcing...
Hypertension as well as sleep apnea are basically LLM model based predictions and Apple has done a great job at that kind of "AI". And they have a whole lot more data from 10 years of heart studies and such from the AW.
Now, a "chatbot" like feature - I don't really see Apple getting into that, but that's just me

AI health chatbot? Oh, hail no! As if it's not bad enough I end up diagnosed with cancer every time I look up a symptom on WebMD.🤫 This is one area I will only trust a living, breathing health professional.

Trust Apple AI with health answers? I'd have better luck foraging mushrooms in the woods.

I welcome it.. currently it's painful to analyze the health data for trends. I have a nice GPT for my Oura data, use it daily

Oh I'm sure this will be just great.
AI powered + Apple = "disaster"

Starting from scratch with the Health app is a good idea. (glad to see that)
That thing is just a junk drawer of all our data, with very little done to make actionable sense of any of it.
All I want is a better data exporter. I either have to export everything (and wait an hour) or use a third party app to select what I'd like to export.

Health+ powered by Gemini. lol Good lord. Plus Gurman said Apple is going to be careful to not mention google with their AI. Sorry Apple, but that's out in the open now. Plus how much risk do you want Apple? A healthcare plus chatbot for entertainment purposes only am i right? Dont' really rely on this..see a doctor. We're not liable..lol

Apple continues to get chastised for their substandard support of Generative AI, but it's important to realize that "Generative" AI is just one category of a vastly larger Machine Learning effort that Apple has embraced for 20 years, and they continue to make significant steps forward each year.

And people keep forgetting... millions of people using AI solutions from the likes of Google, Anthropic, Facebook, Amazon, etc. are using Apple hardware to do it. Why is it so important that Apple compete directly when they already sell the hardware people use to access a broad range of AI?

Apple users are not somehow held back from embracing the world's AI. If anything, Apple enables that access.

Sounds like they’re trying to copy Oura rings advisor functionality. Next they’ll integrate food macro nutrient photo detection like Oura

Aren't hypertension and sleep apnea detection both algorithm-based, not LLM/ML? I turned off AI last week and both of these features are still working for me.

I wonder what approach Apple will manage. They will be pushing hard for quality but there is risk of 9 of 10 doctors/experts agree with their sponsor attitude. Best approach is usually more nature and less tech and if you wanna know truth you have to listen to those who are forbidden to talk... :D

They are putting reputation on table.

Improving the Health app, great. But what could they add to it that people would pay for? An AI coach? Would anyone trust it?

Don't know how useful it will be. However wish I will be able to try it out and Apple makes it available worldwide. Expecting an announcement at WWDC.
