AIM has pissed me off so much lately. It runs just fine but it ALWAYS says that I have an update for it. Then I tried to delete it but it keeps coming back. I unchecked the sync option on my iTunes to have iTunes remove it, and I get an error saying it can't be removed

I just want it to go away!

I don't get it.

I mean I get why AIM would put ads but why make a paid one? There's already Palringo that's free that offers AIM and more services and then there's Beejive.
I don't think most people would but the paid one unless its a dollar.

AOL needs to make money somehow. The AOL service itself has been losing money year after year especially since they made the AOL service free a few years ago. They still offer a paid service but why pay when they offer free accounts too. Those who have free AOL accounts, get ads placed on chatrooms and other various places while using the AOL software.

It's just carrying over to AIM now since AIM was always a free service that AOL always provided.

I got fed up and uninstalled it by hitting the black X and then plugged in my phone to my laptop, didn't sync, and used DiskAid to browse my Applications folder... There were no less than 20 copies of Aim Free and one Copy of AIM. For some reason it wasn't deleting the old copies so it always said there was an update. I just deleted all of them with DiskAid because my phone already thought it was uninstalled. Then I synced with my computer and it was fixed. :D

Now if someone could help me to find the AIM Free settings... after the update, AIM thought it would do me a favour by switching to Japanese, and I don't know where to change it.
