So, maybe I am misunderstanding the videos that were demo'd awhile ago, but wasn't AIM supposed to notify you with a little number on the icon when an IM comes in? It seems like they only pop up when I have AIM open.

Badges can only be done through push as it requires the application to either maintain a connection with the server or run in the background.

This will be available in September.

Facebook does the badge, but only if you receive it while the application is opened, don't open your message, then tap the home button.

AIM felt this was useless, as I haven't seen it for AIM.

blank aim messages

So, i understand the whole badging thing and that doesnt really bother me. On the other hand, when im not on aim(on my iphone), when i receive my IM's they are blank. is that normal? should i delete the app and reinstall?
And one more thing, is there a way to sign off and back on again?

That's my question, too... I can't find a way to sign off!

If you go to your iPhone's settings app, scroll down and you'll see there are 3rd party app settings panes as well. In the AIM one there is a slider to enable signing off upon exit.
