Aim (way to autoconnect in wireless network?)

The question... is

Is there any way at all to have AIM (iChat) open and auto connect when one randomly drifts into open wireless network?

HINT: A good little mod to make!

If you have iChat open when you connect to a WiFi network, it will auto connect. The trick is getting some sort of listener for the connection event to trigger a launch of iChat. I'm out of ideas for that problem.
