You guys have to go return these.

If it was a real issue the reviewers would've seen it when using it.

Here are 2 pics of mine. Its hard to see in pictures. However anyone picking up my Ipad will notice it.

And the biggest spot it happens at is where the A8 is located.

Maybe not. I'm betting most professional reviews didnt have them in a case. It seems to be, from reading this thread anyway, that most are getting these issues with them in a case. I dont have mine in a case yet and have to press harder than i normally would to reproduce this. But i can tell you i have my Air 1 and i dont get this with the same amount of pressure. But i have a case coming next week. I'll see if it happens more easily when I get the case on.

This tablet is thin. amazingly thin. The screen is up against everything compared to older models. im betting its just inherent to these tablets being so thin.

Yeah the extra weight of the case makes it show for me just by picking up the ipad. Any movement if I'm holding with 1 hand and it happens.

This entire thing makes me sick to my stomach. I have bad OCD that I take meds for. And this REAL problem is driving me nuts!

Are you pushing on the back or just holding it? Is it in a case?

I'm not pushing at all.

I have my thumb on the right edge and my fingers behind the screen. The ipad presses its weight against my fingers. That is the only force being applied to the ipad.

I understand that this can happen when you press on an LCD screen. However I'm just holding the iPad the same way I have held the ipad 1, 2, 4 and air.

I've been using mine for a few hours and no problem so far

All these screen issues seem like a first batch of pancakes issue.

I will go to the apple store and check all these things. Maybe it'll be here in November some time.

OK. I just wanted to know when I go check it here.

This isn't acceptable if it is a real problem. I would get my money back. Get a Macbook Air.

my theory....the case adds pressure on the back of the ipad. But the way most cases work is they also add pressure around the edges of the front of the ipad where they grip. that combined with holding it on a edge adds up to flexing the screen.

Sorry about the OCD man. Personally, I dont think theres a fix with this model. Its inherent to the design. I guess Apple could do a fix in house and still call it an Air 2. But Apple's not one to admit to a problem like these.

I've been looking at tablets for months. I held the Tab S 8.4 and the 10.5 and the screen was perfect and that one is paper thin. I think 6.6mm. Just about as thin as the Air 2.

I don't think it is the issue with ALL thin tablets.

Not seeing this on my 128.

Okay, will be honest, now I can see it. Noticed it on a white screen. Can replicate it in two places on the right side, no where else. Have to put a bit of extra pressure, but not much. Haven't put in a case yet to test.

My 64GB WiFi does this when I put pressure on the back. It is in an Apple leather case, but this doesn't happen when just holding it. I was unaware of it until reading this thread and tried it with pressure. I can't do this on my iPad Air first generation. Hopefully this won't cause any trouble.

I'm so sad.

PS. No matter what I'm keeping an ipad air 2. I just don't know if I should start the exchange carrousel hoping for 1 that does it less.

I can't see how anything is pressing against it. Maybe the screen is flexing but what could be pushing against it?

Noticed it by picking it up with one hand, not sure what to think now.

Exactly. Makes your stomach turn don't it.

P.S. - Sorry to anyone who didn't notice until this thread. I was hoping it was just me so I could get it fixed. It now seems that this is the iPad air 2.

It happens only where the board is. It does not happen where the battery is located.

Eh, I'm keeping mine. Most of the time its resting on my lap or chest with one hand or laying on something flat. I'm more irked with the smaller battery and mute/rotate button gone.

They shouldve just kept the same size and battery while upgrading the internals like they did. I was perfectly happy with the external size and weight of the original Air. It was great as it was.

Apple's gonna have to rethink the "Thinner is better" strategy.

Swell I could see this happening from applying abnormal pressure, but if this really just occurs from pick the device up in a normal fashion than it is unacceptable. If it occurs that easily I don't think it would have passed QC.

Then it must have failed QC and they shipped it anyway, because it happens that easy. A simple 1 hand lift from the mid-bottom right will cause an LCD stress effect.

Also I have found another site talking about it: http://www.reddit.com/r/ipad/comments/2k5eo5/pressing_on_lower_right_side_of_screen_ipad_air_2/

Note the OP says:

"Update: Went to the Apple store, they said they are all like that. They figure it is due to the new, thinner screen process. They showed me a couple demo units that were doing the same thing. I exchanged my gold for black, it is also doing the same thing. Have 15 days to return if it is too annoying. Will hold it for a bit, see what others are saying."

"Professional reviews" aren't completely unbiased. Apple has a way of punishing tech sites that bash or call them out on their quality.

That's why it's generally in their best interest to give a rough overall review that gives minor criticism and overall praise.

Thanks. I didn't mean to minimize this in anyway, just man....the complaints/issues with this device seem staggering....
