I'm starting to use my machine for work, and so have been buying additional chargers/cables USB docks etc.
I've noticed that charging from the port nearest the screen doesn't always work. It works fine with the official cable and charger. Charging with the official cable doesn't work if charging through a USB hub.
With my other cables, as well as the dock, charging only works when I use the other port. Everything works fine when using this port.
I have reset SMC and PRAM/NVRAM multiple times.
I thought these sort of issues had been resolved with a Big Sur software update...and it's a bit annoying that I can't charge through a USB dongle or hub.
I've got 6 months left on service and repairs coverage, but I figure they'll just tell me to use official Apple products.
Anyone got any ideas?
