I just noticed that the 10ft lightning usb cable won't charge my ipad air, coz the provided cable was too short. Where can i find a working long usb cable? So the 10ft wont work, what am i gonna used it for?

Apple has a MFI program, that some generic companies don't follow when making their cables.

There may also be a limit on the length, but I think 10ft is good.

I recommend this one. This one is Apple certified as said in the title.
Skiva Apple Certified Lightning to USB cable (10 Feet, Extra Long) for iPhone 5, iPad Mini and other Apple devices
