Air m2 hinge gap

Let me start off but saying I only even noticed this issue because the hinge on the inside on the right is also scratched. It’s barely noticeable but it led me to look at the hinge when closed and noticed the gap on the one side. The gap also happens to be on the side that you can see the missing finish

It’s minor I know, just wondering if this is normal? The bare medal you can see in the gap is also what you can see when it’s open when looking down from the top. Again, not visible during normal use.

Just checked on mine, its not like that here...but I did notice that my bottom plate might be tiny bit curvy in spots

that's a big gap though, are you able to return it still?

Yup, I have an appointment on Thursday, they said if I bring it in to show them the issues, I can hold onto it until the replacement shows up so I’m not going weeks without a laptop.
