Hello!
I am user of the MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014); 99% of my work on the laptop is using Microsoft Word for writing and Fiefox for browsing / watching youtube videos. Some work is basic Photoshop work (resizing photos, some minor treatments) and some music editing on Adobe Audition. Also, I have the Logic Pro X for fun...
Now - I have to buy the new laptop. The 14-inch M1 is a bi expensive, so I am thinking about the Mac Book Air M1 and Mac Book Pro M1 13 inch.. What do you suggest?

Any suggestion is welcomed!

thnx and regards
toma

I’d just get the Air. The added features of the 13 Pro are too minor to be worth the cost. I’d rather put that extra money towards upgrades in the MBA.

MBA is the best M1 laptop ou there. Just bear in mind to choose the option with 8CPU/8GPU cores.

MBP M1 13” is ok. But that silly Touch Bar ruins the whole experience. In my opinion, of course. There are minor advantages in MBP, the most important one is the screen brightness.

Having said that, MBA is a fantastic machine. It is snappy and fast as hell. You won’t notice the chip been hot.

For 99% Word and Firefox the M1 Air is a great fit. You should however get it with 16GB RAM.

What’s wrong with the 7GPU version (except that the standard config only has 256GB SSD)?
Well... None. It won’t be snappy as the 8cores in photoshop and so.

For web and basic editions it will do the job. But OP mentioned softwares that are GPU hungry. So, the best option is the 8/8.
