Air Pods Max Show Connection - But...

Hi. Since the latest Ventura release, 13.3, when I put on my AirPods Max, it says CONNECTED, but it's not actually. I have to go to the list of Bluetooth sound devices and select the AirPods Max. I checked the firmware on the Air Pods Max, and it's the latest. Is anyone else getting this behavior? Thanks.
 
Yes same issue only now any time I take them off they do this and I have to reset them every single time I pick them up and put them on. I can't seem to get them to update to the latest beta firmware to see if that helps. Lucky for me they went out of warranty a few months ago so they are next to worthless now. 😡
