Air pods pro not automatically switching

Ok i just got some new air pods pro today due to my others not working in both ears. I have them connected but air pods are not automatically switching from my two iPhones/iPad

any idea why this would not work? I went into settings/Bluetooth and there’s no option coming up with option for automatically switching

any help would be useful

Also my old air pods have spatial audio but my new ones don’t

is this firmware related?
