On my iPad I was able to get it installed by checking the "not on this ipad" section in the app store "purchased" area. I checked on an ios 14 and 15 device and confirmed it works. I don't think I have a 16+ device to check on and I'm too concerned over losing the app and not being able to get it back to want to upgrade anything to that, but check it out - you may still be able to restore it if you downloaded it before
Thank you this worked perfectly I was worried I could not get the app back. I still use version Air Video 2.2.1 with VLC 2.2.1 by downloading it from the VLC archives and it works perfectly on all videos H264 and H265 and larger files better than newer versions, I use this app so much so thought it was all over when I couldn't download it from the APP store anymore, but this method on the latest Iphone and Ipad and all my family devices using family sharing with not on this device and can download the originally purchased app and reinstall on AOS 17.1.1

Like all of you I'm a great fan of AVHD and have been for years. I would also be very happy to pay for an updated version. I read here about using codecs from VLC, but my tech knowledge fails me here. Would one of the guys who's done it please advise how to do this procedure. iMac with Mac OS 13.4 Ventura. Many thanks for the help.
For the codecs to work you will need an older version on Airvideo 2.2.1 works perfectly for me and then download the same VLC to your PC from the VLC website archives to match your version, for example if you have Air video 2.2.1 download VLC 2.2.1 and install it for whatever version, mine is 64 bit and the download section is https://www.videolan.org/vlc/releases/ really easy to sort if you install the same version of VLC to your PC as your version on Air Video

If you need Airvideo 2.2.1 I can share it on google drive below

I know this is an old post but I have a relevant problem.

I happened to remove the AirVideo HD by accident and I'm not able to redownload the app. However there are files that I locally downloaded. It's a family occassion videos that I downloaded and since the original source is lost my iPhone is the only place has the videos.

In iPhone storage section I can still see there are the videos taking up space for the Air Video HD but I only have one option to delete the data.

Is there any way I can install the app again or access the local files on my iPhone without the app ? I'm on iOS 17

After yet another OS update, I think Air Video HD is now breaks for good.

I have the server installed on macOS Sequoia and the air video HD app on my phone, both allows local network permissions. However my app could not see the server anymore. I guess now it's really time to see alternative apps for this.

Spent hours trying to find an alternative.
After finally working out how to set up SMB
all the alternatives were not even close to the simplicity of Air video HD.

It was all too complex and time consuming.

Using iMazing Free Version

I've extracted the Air Video HD ipa file from iphone 11

And have successfully installed and working on iPhone 16 pro max.

Moved on and went to nPlayer Plus mostly.

Mean Air Video HD could never over internet 4g lte or 5g (tethering neither to like my tablet), at least not for me, stream 110% reliability while in moving transportation :(

Even small low quality movies and tv shows.

Like with any cellular provider. I tried them all.

Thankfully I figured out a way to just locally stream 4k wherever I am. Win win for both things. No need for connectivity and always highest quality content unless it never been released in 4k of course.

May switch but not sure yet back to the other mobile OS platform and devices, nPlayer plus is on it too so yeah, unless Air Video HD comes back somehow with actual fixes and updates. Like a new version. Highly doubtful that will happen.

I have Air Video HD on my phone and my iPad and all of a sudden it disappeared on my iPad. I downloaded a demo of Imazing and it allowed me to download the app from my iPhone and save it to my PC and then when I hooked up my iPad I was able to reinstall to my iPad and it works great now again.
I was able to use iMazing to do this same thing. It wasn't very obvious, or straightforward, but it DID work, and it was free on the trial mode. Kudos for this tip, and thanks to iMazing software for a great 'save'.

As others have said, I would pay quite a bit for a modern re-factor of Air Video HD. Especially with dark mode.

I can't fathom why NOTHING else out there is anywhere near as fast. Infuse is very pretty, and the video player features are great. But it is sooooo S-L-O-W. Like, Unusably slow, even on my local network. It's honestly borderline terrible. I've tried all sorts of combinations of SMB and SFTP; via .local, ip, and even tailscale. Nothing much matters.

This is such a bummer, even though I did get AVHD back...
