So I breezed through two defect Airs in the space of about a month and, after enduring my fair share of frustration with them, finally settled on a regular old BlackBook. And while I do love it, my sadistic side misses the Air. Granted, I don't miss its fairly weak processor, ridiculously small hard drive, and all those times the fans went bonkers on me while merely watching youtube or listening to music and word processing at the same time, but I do miss its gorgeous screen, its streamlined design and its ideal size, and the fact that it's aluminum. And I suppose I also miss the general idea of the Air, if that makes any sense. A Mac that could handle the simple tasks I ask of it and that I could easily tote around town (yeah, I'm not a weakling and my BlackBook's not particularly cumbersome, but, let's face it, shaving two pounds off one's load can make all the difference). I know, I know. Not everyone has experienced the first generation problems I have. I'm sure there are plenty who can attest to the Air's brilliance and reliability, plenty who would say I was just incredibly unlucky, that I should consider giving it another try. It's just that, in order for me to want to give it another try, I would like to not only be assured that all it's kinks are worked out but also get just a bit more out of it. A 128GB SSD, for instance. One that truly justifies the $1000 price tag. Yeah, again, I know. Prices are dropping and someday soon... So, uh, any fingers crossed for a Christmas refresh? Anyway, I guess there was really no point to this, and I apologize to those who bothered reading my little rant. Sorry everyone, just bored and venting and avoiding doing any real work.
