So I bought this through Mac App store do I get the upgrade? I need a license #

Does this app or a way to check decibel on other devices besides the iPhone? I think that would be helpful while using Airpods Pro are used on the iPad and/or MacOS?

I don't know what this app does exactly, but Big Sur does basic thing about Airpods Pro quite well.

You don’t need an app to connect the AirPods to the Mac, and you never did. Never needed to pair them either, connect them once to your iPhone and they become paired with all your devices including the Mac. That is their whole point.

I'm running the 11.0.1 RC on my backup Mac, and I don't see a battery widget in the list of widgets, whereas this app provides one.

Am I missing something?

The battery widget is the only real feature this app provides that Big Sur does not, that's the other 10% I was talking about in my post earlier.

Yes. Natively.
No it doesn't. Show me where Big Sur or even Monterey offers the same functionality.
One huge feature is handing off not just Airpods but also the keyboard, mouse and trackpad to another Mac. Not sure why they don't advertise that feature.

If you want additional features above and beyond what Big Sur offers, then this sounds like the right app. I have no problem with it. Just not something I want. In fact, I never picked up version 1. I tend to use better headphones at my desktop anyway. I rarely want to use the AirPods there. So I've never used it.

I don't see the fuss here. Big Sur handles the main part of connecting headphones. Some have claimed issues, but it's worked very well for me so far with my testing on my laptop. So the original app was expanded with additional features to make it worth the money. If those extra features aren't worth the money, don't buy the upgrade. If the new features are worth it for someone, they can upgrade.

I'm not sure how this is different than anything else out there. Some apps are worth the money and I buy them, some aren't and I don't. This one I'll be skipping, but as a developer myself, I wish him luck. It must suck to have a good idea, then have Apple implement it right out from under you.
Oh come on; Apple didn't do anything outrageous here. Just a logical trnasition. Anyonee should know Apple might (and will) do even more.

Big Sur does a good job at handling AirPods now. It shows that the AirPods are nearby and you can click and connect easily. I use it all the time lately. It's been working well for a week or two...? I haven't updated to the latest seed & it's good enough. The final should be smoother.
Big Sur never potices my AirPods being nearby. Always manual for the Mac, and sometimes for the iPad under iOS 15. And Big Sur never a display as seen on the iPhone, showing battery status, nor does it allow me to rurn off the mic easily, nor enter noise cancellation.

I'm not a fan boy, just so many nay sayers here.
