I have a Core i5 iMac and an old iPad Mini. I have a Lenovo-Motorola Moto G6 Play smartphone running Android 9.

I was wondering about AirDrop. I know that I can use AirDrop to wirelessly (and disclessly, and thumb-drivelessly) transfer files from one Mac to another, and from my iMac to the iPad.

What about transferring files from the iMac to my G6 Play? Does that work? Is there a way to make it work?

I think I tried this once and it didn't work. I'll have to try it again.

I use Bluetooth between my Mac and my Pixel 2 XL from time to time. My main hurdle has been that the Bluetooth chip on my Mac was unreliable, though it seems better after I replaced it.

I used the android app Airdroid back in the day. It does a lot of things now but one of them was wirelessly transferring files/folders between your computer and phone. Worked pretty well back in the day. Haven't used it in a few years since I just do mostly cloud backups and storage from my device.

You may want to try an app called instashare. I used it to transfer files back when my 2011 iMac was too old to support said feature.
