AirDrop from OneDrive broken?

So I want to send pictures from the iOS OneDrive app through AirDrop. In OneDrive I tap Share, then Send File (so the actual picture file is sent and not a link). Then I tap the AirDrop recipient and everything sends as normal. However, on the recipient's device the picture is not in their Photos app. Any ideas here?
