Airdrop IOS to laptop

I am trying to airdrop from iOS to OS X ...

it works from

OS X to iOS no problem
iOS to OS X doesn't work

macbook doesn't show up on my iOS device anyone know how to fix this!

Beg your iOS device in a soft voice and sometimes, sometimes it might work.

Having the same problem sometimes. Other times, I can Airdrop to my laptop without even opening Finder.

If you have your iPhone or iPad in Do Not Disturb mode Airdrop will not work. Just a thought

Had the same problem this morning. My iPhone icon appeared in AirDrop on my iMac, but my iMac icon did not appear on my iPhone in AirDrop. A reboot of my iMac seemed to fix it for now.

I haven't been able to airdrop from ios to mac at all. The mac recognizes iPad and iPhone, but not the other way. I gave up and just use Dropbox when I need to move files.

I don't use Dropbox for storage, just moving files. It's also the only way I could get my photos off iPad into a folder on mac.

It works for me but it takes like over a minute for the device to appear in the air drop menu

It'll work if you have AirDrop tab open in finder.
