    Hi everyone,
I'm new here and not very IT savvy. I understand that AirDropping uses peer-to-peer technology. If this is being done at work does it also use company resources (WIFI)? I'm trying to work out whether employees can AirDrop during their lunch breaks without a burden to company resources. Can a company IT section see the flow of AirDrop traffic between employees?
    Thanks,
    ITIGNORANT

Bluetooth is initially used to get the peer-to-peer wi-fi network between the devices. So yes, it uses wi-fi to transfer data.
As far as "IT" seeing the flow of traffic, it's possible to watch the traffic from the network devices but it's very difficult to see what exact data is being exchanged without 3rd-party tools used for malicious activities :)
