Is there something special I have to do, it seems if it's airplane mode then GPS doesn't work which I guess is by design? Wifi doesn't work either...except with Safari?

airplane mode turns off any signals coming to and from phone

hence the purpose of airplane not have signals interfere with plane

turn airplane mode off if you want gps and wifi to work lol

what did you think airplane mode meant?

That is the point of Airplane mode. All wireless communication is shut off. That means WiFi, GPS and cell phone signal.

Then why does wifi work in Safari?

It's programming because I wanted to know if there was a way to tell.

So weird, I swear it was working with airplane mode on, I just turned it off then back on and now it wont work...oh well

You can turn on Airplane mode, and then manually turn on Wifi. This is because some plane now have wifi on them.

When you activate airplane mode it turns off all radios, but you can go in and turn on wifi manually.

Actually, why doesn't GPS work in Airplane mode? Because...I gather GPS doesn't actually send any signals to interfere with the just receives signals that are already there?

GPS does send out signals (where I am) and aviation relies heavily on GPS these days.
