Apple TV Airplay after Jailbreaking?

I've recently got an apple TV and am thinking about jailbreaking it so that I can (hopefully) run a wider selection of video formats. However, the other main thing I want to do with it is airplay streaming / mirroring from my iPad 2 / iPhone 4S.

Will it still be possible to do this after the JB?

Also wondering if there is a recommended tool to use. Been checking out SeasonPass and PwnageTool (probably spelled them wrong) and they both look straightforward enough.

    TIA

fox - I just did a tethered JB with the seasonpass 4.4.4 method on their website, and also installed atvflash (black). No problem using airplay, etc.

From a simple perspective, all that is changed is MORE stuff is available after jailbreak, nothing gone/broken.

Thanks for that, I'm going to go ahead with it. Did you back up the SHSH using TinyUmbrella first or just go straight to seasonPass?

Having problems with season pass. It says my device is not compatible with the ipsw it downloads. Is this because I'm in the uk? I've updated it to 4.4.4 before I started and tried it on 2 different devices?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

Have u pointed seas0npass to the 4.4.4 ipsw? And have u downloaded the latest version of seasonpass. My bet is u aint pressing shift and selecting the 4.4.4 ipsw u should have downloaded iff u havent download it here www.felixbruns.de

That sounds plausible. I downloaded the latest version of SeasonPass but didn't press shift at the 'Create IPSW' button. I'll give that a go.

Bought an AppleTV yesterday. Used the newest seas0npass and it did everything for me. Created the updated custom IPSW, opened iTunes and selected it for restore without having to hold shift. Way easier than jailbreaking any other iDevice. Flashed it and have all the goodies with zero issues and it is untethered.

That's pretty much what I expected to happen but it's been a bit more tricky. I've downloaded the 4.4.4 ipsw as above and got it to create the modified file as expected but when it opens iTunes to run the recovery, it's stalling at the checking ipsw with iTunes store (presumably as I have no internet connection on the mac at work). I'll have to wait till I get home to try it out properly.

    Final update.

Got home and managed to successfully jailbreak both aTVs following a reboot of the macbook. The first one went without a hitch, the second one claimed to have failed (1602 error) but when I plugged it in to check it afterwards, it showed the correct logo in the bottom and then allowed me to ssh in.

Since then, I've installed atv Flash (black) on both and am very happy. Next job is to get a meaty NAS somewhere on the network (or maybe just plug a USB disk into the Time Capsule) and use it as the main media server for the house.

EDIT - Forgot to say, thanks for all the help and support
