I tried twice today to Airplay Amazon Prime to both an ATV3 and the new ATV4. In both cases, the picture
is "letterboxes". While I'm not sure, it appears like the wide screen format is "squeezed" into letterbox form rather than the normal letterbox that just slices the ends off the picture.

Wonder if this problem is caused by Amazon or Apple to downgrade the video picture? At the moment, it means nothing to me as my Samsung also has an Amazon Prime app that works just fine and if I happen to want to watch Amazon on my iPad, the picture is in normal wide screen mode.

So, who fired the first shot, Amazon or Apple?

is that all on the same TV show? maybe that one show is just messed up
Does it show up proper on your phone?

that's the way that DVDs would do 16:9, they're recorded as a 4:3 picture, but a flag that tells the DVD player to stretch it to make it 16:9 on the output signal,

try a different show and see if it's better.

Are you mirroring or Airplaying it? Try Airplay from your phone instead of your iPad. Let us know what you see then.
