I was needing to use the Midi Setup application (mavericks) for an unrelated thing, and when I was done, I noticed the airplay setting only has stereo output, rather than multichannel.
My Apple TV 3 is hooked up to my Sony AV receiver, and it delivers multi-channel sound to it...but when I use airplay to send stuff to the apple Tv, it only sends stereo?
(I'm not sure how much this matters, when you break it down, since I mainly use airplay to send itunes music to the receiver...I use Beamer to send movies, and it sends multi-channel sound...but I'd still like more info if someone has it.)
