airplay button missing in itunes

i am using the latest version of itunes on a cheap windows 8.1 laptop, and the airplay button does not show in itunes.

I tried the solution i found most frequently when google-ing for one (uncheck the PROTOCOL VERSION 6(TCP/IPv6 in the control panel), but it is still not there.

any ideas?

Try completely turning off the Windows firewall.

ok, turned off the windows firewall, updated to lastest version of itunes, still no airplay button

Airplay requires three elements - computer with iTunes, an Airplay-capable device, and the wi-fi network to which they both connect. If any one of those three has a problem, the Airplay icon will not appear. You've only told us about your computer. What about the rest?

Before attempting the relatively esoteric solution of unchecking the TCP protocol, did you follow all the steps in this more basic article? http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5209
