Airplay directly from youtube in safari don't work!

It look's like everything is working - airplay in menu bar is blue and sometime gray screen with airplay appears for 0,01s but it plays still on mac not on tv.. when I have ATV3 it worked but everytime when I turned on Apple tv and connected connected airplay from safari youtube I needed to make a move in playback bar (go forward) but then it worked normally.
edit: even after trying to airplay youtube when I go to facebook and play video it airplays automatically! but on youtube it only flashes airplay logo

Have you downloaded the YouTube app for your Apple TV? I was having a similar AirPlay issue with YouTube from my iPad Mini but after I downloaded the YouTube app and approved my account on TVoS it started working with no hassles. Not sure why they're related but it solved my issue!
unfortunately, I have youtube app installed and authorized and now I tried to make this process again but still not working. On my iphone in youtube app it works fawlessly.

I have the same problem, mirroring the entire mac screen works fine but if I try to use the button built into youtube in Safari it turns the icon in the menu bar blue but the video continues to play on my mac. It worked fine a week ago. I use this almost everyday in my class. I hope there is a fix.
And did you upgraded Apple tv or just stopped working itself? It's possible that my upgrade from TV3 to TV4 isn't reason. It seems like this problem have more people and it's nothing which I can change, maybe it's osx/youtube or tvos problem. I'd loved this feature most from Apple tv, hope they will it fix it soon.
I've seen this too. I've used Airplay from youtube on my Mac and Safari to my ATV4 but it feels like some content on youtube just won't work with Airplay.
Is there maybe a possibility of being able to block the Airplay feature as the owner of the youtube video?

Was working fine for me initially but has now started to do the same - Airplay logo flashes up very briefly then nothing happens. I've changed literally nothing here. Apple have become literally the worst developer out there when it comes to buggy software. You sort one issue then another comes along!
Same here. It is something that has changed on Youtube. I'm on a 3rd gen AppleTV. I've even gone through re-authorizing the youtube app on there to see if that made a difference, but no luck.
I'm having a similar issue in that if I access Youtube using Safari on my MacBook Pro and click on the AirPlay icon nothing happens at all. The AirPlay icon in the Youtube video window does indicate it has been initiated on the Apple TV but nothing happens at all. Nothing is displayed on my TV screen at all.
It was working for me then it just stopped. I think Google did something on their end. Maybe because Safari has ad blocking and the app doesn't?
Same issue here. I even tried toggling off adblock (seemed like a plausible culprit) and no dice.

The problem seems to be isolated to youtube only as other websites like vimeo work without problems.

Worked for me at the beginning then it randomly stopped. I just disabled Adblock and it's working fine on my Apple TV4 now.
Same for me. With adblock software as well. I had to reinstall the OS for an unrelated issue so I just assumed that fixed the problem, but reading this makes me think it was a universal fix by YouTube, right?
