I’m not able to connect my airplay audio via Spotify or airfoil to my Apple TV. It says “unable to connect”. Anyone else have this problem? It was fine prior to the tvOS update.

I've tried all this and iTunes still doesn't play over Airplay to the Apple TV 4K since the tvOS 13 update.

AirPlay from directly from an iOS 13 device seems to work fine. It's iTunes-to-Apple TV with tvOS 13 that is the issue.

I can't airplay movies bought from iTunes to conference room ATVs on TV OS 13 anymore. Sources I tried are iPhone and iPad on iOS 13. I tried movies and shows which stream to the mobile devices and some which were already downloaded to the device. Error message is "This video is in a format which cannot be streamed to this TV" Targets are beamers connected via HDMI. Still works at home though, so can't be a video format issue? I suspect some sort of copy protection failure via HDMI when the Apple TVS are not registered to the same Apple ID as the sources. Anyone else seeing this?

Probably similar issue with streaming app Beamer - it says unable to connect to TV but if I keep trying over and over it finally works (sometimes after 3rd try, sometimes after 50th try)... the developer currently states that they have no idea what causes this but since there is also problem with Airplay directly without using 3rd party solution, Apple has messed up something

Same here, no sound over Airplay from Itunes on the Apple TV 4k. "Music runs through our DNA" what a joke. If they kill the feature i'm so done with this company...... please fix asap.

Their 13 update destroyed my setup too :( Seriously, is there anything those guys can do right these days?
I'm having delays while airplaying video from my MBP to my ATV, sound is off etc. Tons of problems.
I'm starting to hate Apple, for real...

After ipadOS update, I can’t seem to airplay video from safari. Only audio works. Am I doing something wrong?

I used to be able to just click on the airplay button in the embedded video in safari and it’ll play both video and audio to Apple TV. Now it only plays sound.

Same. This is probably the worst year for updates. I hope they fix it soon. :/

I am having this problem and over the last couple of weeks, I have encountered many other issues since upgrading my devices. I can airplay to the ATV from iTunes (High Sierra) but Homesharing will not connect.

This is reminiscent of pre-Window 10 with PeeCees. I have been spending a lot of time searching the net for solutions. Post Steve Jobs Apple seems to have lost its technology leadership and this year it has achieved parity with Windows 95 for problems.

It will take a parade of more problems to leave Apple but not too many more.

Problem solved! It's a setting! under Airplay -> iCloud I had to disable "play paid content through iCloud"
