Airplay issues iOS 16

Since upgrading to iOS 16 on my iPhone 13 pro max, I can no longer Airplay to my TVs/Apple TVs. Especially Apple Fitness Plus, which worked fine Airplaying (or mirroring) to my TV before the upgrade. I have reset everything, including the Apple TV boxes, but no joy. YouTube works OK, but not Disney or Apple Fitness. Any ideas? Thank.

Have you tried turning off TV and On (fully turn off, not just turn off via tv remote control). I had similar issues ages ago with Samsung Q80TAT but just checked and everything is working fine.
Turning off AirPlay and on might also work.

I don’t have Fitness+ because it’s too hard for Apple to publish something in English without local language version. Somehow Siri is English and all ok…

I have exactly the same issue. I have Apple TV v3, so an old box, which I thought might be the issue. Have turned everything off but no luck. I use Fitness + airplayed from an iPhone 13 Pro Max almost every day, so this is a real pain.

So I am sadly not alone - I thought I was doing something wrong. My Apple TV 4K is 15.6 and refuses to update and my Apple TV (older version) will not update anymore. Surely Apple can't have taken Airplay away unless you have the latest TV box? If so, that is madness (and greed) as it worked fine before. So I can't even upgrade my newer TV box either, so I am stuffed.

and it's ios16 driven. as I can airplay from my iPad to but not from the iPhone (already at iOS 16)

There are a few issues with airplay on iOS 16. When streaming to an airplay speaker and pausing the music it disconnects.

I’m having Airplay issues all over the place. I mostly stream music to various devices or my Bose headphones. The stream just randomly stops with no interaction or change. Or switching from one device to another it appears to be playing, shows that it is connected but no audio can be heard.

Apple, it just doesn’t work. Fix it please.

Old thread but I’m still having persistent issues with Airplay which started with iOS 16. No update to iOS or tvOS have resolved it. It’s completely broken for me, when I try to connect nothing happens.
