    Do I need Mountain Lion to mirror my iPad 4 to a HDTV via an Apple TV?

    You don't. Your iPad runs iOS.


    If you want to Airplay mirroring on your Mac, then you need Mountain Lion.

    Just Macs, it allows them to mirror via AirPlay. The iPad and iPhone don't need anything else to mirror to an Apple TV.
