I had an Apple TV third generation and used airplay frequently. When airplaying a video, it would stop airplaying if you started another video or came across a website with embedded video or sound.

Do the newer Apple TV’s still have this issue? My Chromecast streaming doesn’t get interrupted by anything, which is great.

it would depend on the bandwidth on Wi-Fi wouldn't it ? Mac or IOS connected this way
Chrome cast wouldn't get interrupted because it 'hands off' to the device and keep streaming even though the phone is off

Would depend largly on Wi-fi signal.

Ethernet is always going to be better
