Can you use Air Play with Apple TV on a Macbook Air? Im kinda new with Macbooks and I was wondering.

this is the toolbar in the upper right hand side. the first icon is for airplay.

go to: system preferences > displays

on the bottom there should be an option, check the box

Check that your macbook and apple tv are on the same wifi network, and that it does not block airplay (won't be an issue at home, but some enterprise networks do have this restriction).

How old is your Macbook Air? I think Airplay only works on mid-2011 models and newer.
