I’m currently living in a building with a shared WiFi.

Twice over the last few months a passcode for connecting Airplay to my AppleTV popped up on my screen.

Then last week it happened 5 times in about 5 minutes. So I turned Airplay off on my AppleTV.

About 10 minutes ago it happened again - tapping the Back and Home buttons didn’t do anything. It eventually went away and I checked my settings - Airplay is still off.

Does anyone know how this can happen?

Sounds to me that a different device is being AirPlayed to since your buttons didn't do anything. Many newer TVs have AirPlay built in (my 2018 Samsung TV does), so check the AirPlay settings on the TV itself...and on anything else connected to your TV that supports AirPlay, such as a Roku.

Also, if you'd rather leave AirPlay on so you can use it, change who can AirPlay to "Anyone on the Same Network" or "Only People Sharing This Home".

I never considered it could be the television and you suggestion makes sense as all the TVs are LG and probably the same model.

I don’t know what I have done with the TV remote though :)

Thank you.
