AirPlay Receiver

Hello

if im watching a movie on my iphone with subtitles from playbox hd or popcorn time if i stream it to airplay on tv will subtitles be visible?

Also is there any way i can make an airplay receiver maybe with rasbery pi or with laptop?

i dont own apple tv

How's it going to "airplay" WITHOUT an input to the TV? AFAIK, you will need an ATV.
