Airplay stops when screen goes off

Hi all.

I've air-playing a video from my MBP to my Apple TV. The MBP is on battery power. When the MBP screen shuts off (currently set at 3 minutes) the air-playing of the video stops too.

How do I prevent the air-playing from stopping?

That's what I did temporarily but I can't believe the Mac can't airplay without the screen having to be on...surely?

Have you tried plugging it in. I know you cant run with the lid closed if its not plugged in maybe it sleeping works the same way.

Well it would work fine if it were plugged in.
