Has anyone had trouble (or vice-versa is it working for you) to AirPlay from an iPhone (running iOS 18.7.x) to a Roku stick on a Wifi network hosted by a T-mobile router?

My friend upgraded to T-mobile home internet and it seems to work great (faster than my cable internet both upload and download) except I can't AirPlay from my phone to the Roku stick on the TV/stereo. If I reset and pair, it works for a few seconds but then fails. Apple Music [the player] either pauses or keeps playing but no music can be heard. After that no music at all can be heard even though Apple Music shows the playback position/playhead advancing normally. All else being equal I would assume the router's Wifi is just passing packets back and forth like any other Wifi so not sure what it could be doing to disrupt Airplay.

Note because I am only over every few weeks or so, I guessing it's the T-mobile router as that's the obvious thing that changed between when it used to work and when it stopped working. It definitely worked ~ August ~ October. It stopped working sometime after Thanksgiving. I probably installed minor iOS updates and I am sure there were Roku updates during that time as well. I recall no issues streaming from the same phone to a family member's Roku-based TV over Thanksgiving.

AirPlay is nice in that when it works, "it just works". However, when it doesn't work it seems like a black box. I am not sure where to start as far as debugging. Even more so on the iPhone.

P.S.I am playing music local to my phone and all the songs play no problem through the iPhone's speakers as soon as I unselect AirPlay. These are all songs sync'd from my Mac to the iPhone and none of the songs have DRM.

One update -- when I turn off Private Wifi Addresses and Limit IP address Tracking, I get 20-30 minutes of playback before it stops. However, it eventually still aborts.

I have noticed it is T-mobile's G4AR model and but only running 1.00.02. I understand T-mobile has to push out the updates and not sure why they haven't as there have been 4 updates since that firmware.

I am now curious what T-mobile's gateway could be doing to the packets to make this not work? I assume this is all local LAN stuff and it just has to pass everything back and forth between the two devices for it to work. On the flip side, why is AirPlay being temperamental about the network (which clearly work well enough for a lot of other things)?
