Is it possible to use the ipad as a second screen to a mac to airplay video from youtube?
I'm trying to used a 1st gen iPad Air and a 2013 Mac Pro so can't use sidecar.

Any ideas what might work?

Thanks

Sidecar doesn't work on a 2013 Mac Pro, its also a 1st gen ipad not on the requirements sheet

Have you tried using Duet?

No i haven't i need it to run wirelessly, duet seems expensive considering all i want to do is watch youtube on the ipad. I've read it has latency issues as well. Have you tried it?

No, I haven’t tried it. I was just giving you a suggestion. You could always try and see if it works, if it’s not up to your standards... get a refund.
Why not watch YouTube natively on the iPad browser or via an app?
That seems like a fair question. I’m not trying to speak for the OP, but I gotta idea... they want to use the Mac exclusively and not rely on juggling both the iPad and Mac.

I use Duet on my Windows laptop with a gen 2 ipad Pro when I'm in need of a second screen away from home or office. Works ok wirelessly for work but there's obviously latency that can be seen when watching video. Framerate also suffers as well. I wouldn't recommend it wirelessly for the use case you're wanting with the older hardware that you have. Wired works better for sure and doesn't require the pro upgrade that wireless does.
