AirPod 3 sound quality

I’ve had a pair of AirPods 3 for a while.

The first 2 years they were covered by apple care.

During that time I had to have the right one replaced because the sound was muffled and they just didn’t sound right.

Now, it seems to be doing it again.

Not sure I want to spend $69 on another one.

Any suggestions?

If it's like what happened with me, the mesh gets blocked with gunk. Every week I press a ball of blue tack into the mesh and lift it off to pull anything out of there. I've not ruined them yet by doing it and they've not gone muffled again since.
