Airpod battery - different on iPhone vs Mac

So after leaving my Airpods in their case all night, I connected them to my Mac this morning and the battery is shown as this

I got concerned so I disconnected, then connected them to my iPhone. Both pods and case show charged up to 100%. What gives? Anyone seen that before?
