Hey so I just hooked up my AirPods to a S0 AW. I had never bothered before because syncing music always took so long but thought I should experiment a bit with OS4 before my S3 arrives.

Anyway, it seems that double tap gestures don’t work, nor does the auto ear detection?

Is it just me?

Try a re-pairing with the iPhone. Or, under your Bluetooth settings, select the AirPods and 'forget this device'. Then re-pair them again.

I have a s2 watch and don't ever use the double taps, but auto ear detection works for my AirPods when I'm using them with the watch

Thanks everybody. I’ve tried tons of stuff but the double taps simply aren’t working on my S0. Everything works as expected the second I connect to them with my phone though. I am loving the new distinct functions for each side.

Very strange - maybe try rebooting your watch? I just put my aipods in, linked to phone - control double taps worked fine. Switched (seamlessly...this is an amazing feature) to music from the watch (I used a whole different playlist) and the double tap commands worked fine on the watch. So, maybe a watch reboot might help. I have a S0 watch (until tomorrow) so maybe this is series dependent?

I had the same problem. Finally, I forgot the device then repaired, then restarted the devices. For now Siri is working correctly.

Still no go for me.

Tried the following
1. Forget device AirPods on iPhone. (Doing so caused them to drop connection to AW as expected).
2. Rebooted phone and watch and AirPods.
3. Repaired AirPods to phone.
4. Confirmed double tap settings.
5. Opened music app on watch and started playing a song with output to AirPods. No double tap actions.

Sonewhat oddly, AirPods still show as connected to iPhone. I guess I would expect them to not be connected if I was playing through the AW. My understanding was they could only pair to one device at a time.

If I am playing music on the iPhone and using the watch to control volume and such, the double tap gesture DO work!

Series 0. Guess I’ll cut my losses and wait for Series 3 to arrive

I have the S2 and I had the same issue. All I did was go in the settings and uncheck double tap and checked it again and it started working again.
