AirPod Max and compatibility with Dolby Atmos/Spatial Audio through a Mac Mini?

So I'm on the verge of buying a set of APMs but I'm reading conflicting information regarding Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos.

I don't own a "proper" tv, and instead watch/listen to almosg everything through an M1 Mac Mini hooked up to an LG UltraWide so aside from being connected to an iPhone, I'd be using the APMs for Apple Music on my Mac Mini and watching Netflix/Amazon Prime/Apple Tv+.

I've read that the M1 Mac Mini doesn't support Dolby Atmos - I assume that just means natively with the Mac Mini speakers which are too small, but that it would work with a Mac Mini connected to APMs?

So what I really wanted to clarify is:

- Will APMs playing tracks from Apple Music through a Mac Mini work with Spatial Audio?

- Will Dolby Atmos work with APMs whilst watching Netflix or Apple TV+ on a M1 Mac Mini? (I know Netflix doesn't current support Spatial Audio)

Sorry if these are basic questions but there are a lot of conflicting answers out there!

Taking the plunge, if it works it works.

It only plays spatial audio through an iPhone at this point. But it doesn't matter that much. Spatial audio isn't all that amazing yet. By the time they get it fully implemented, it will probably sound a lot better.
