Hi Guys,

How is the Movie Watching experience using the Airpod in your iPhone or iPad or even on Mac ? The sound is not all that great right people ? I mean there is no sound isolation or immersive sound in it ? Right ? So does it serve the purpose of watching a movie and listening to the dialogues and sounds in a movie clearly, distinctly and loudly ?? Like say listening on a headphone or earphone ?

I use mine at work with my Mac all day, at home on iPad. It's more than fine to use for watching movies. However, I've noticed, and I'm curious if it's just how they are, but when volume is at the 10-30% range, it's WAY too quiet. Anyone else?

I use my AirPods with my TV while wife is watching something else or working in the kitchen and find them very good at providing the sound for movies. Stereo sound comes through much better than even my sound bar.

Couple of other substitutes that have come in the Market which are just like the Airpod not design wise but wireless buds, couple of them have latency issues, like the sound you hear and the dialogues or scene which is displayed there is a latency in it ! I wonder if that is also the case with the Airpod ?

I don't see any audio/video lag with my AirPods though I have with other brands. I've thought I've seen some with the YouTube app on my 10.5 iPP but if it's really there, it's subtle - but that is the only instance of latency I may have seen. I stream a lot of video from my NAS on my local network and from xfinity on-line.

I would agree. I typically have to have my AirPods almost maxed out in some respects to have the volume adequately loud. If they are below half way, it's way to quiet for me.

I also felt the same while taking a demo of the Airpod in the Apple Store I could still hear a lot background noise, and the sound was not too loud, it should have been a little loud is tool low even at Maxed out volume !!

I wish if Apple had only paid more attention and importance of also making an equally good sounding buds with the AirPod than just making a chic looking, a stylish looking accessory. I mean the sound quality really sucks on the Airpod ! Meh !!

To be fair sound quality on Airpods is better than Earpods. Apple store is probably the worst place to test Airpods for sound quality in watching movies.

But despite that when you compare the Airpods to the other Bluetooth Wireless Ear Buds that are there now in the Market, the Apple Airpod sound quality is horrible !!

There is nothing horrible about Airpods. Customer satisfaction surveys and the feedback you read all around the internet proves this. Obviously you are not comparing expensive over-ear audiophile headphones with Airpods for sound quality? I for one use my Airpods all the time on my iPad for watching movies, though I do it at home not in a packed Apple shop.

I am also talking about trying and testing and using this AirPods in a peaceful environment even then they do not sound audiophile quality. Period !

I think the AirPod sound is fine for watching movies of all genres on my 10.5 iPP. My Bose SoundSports are better, but not hugely so and I almost always reach for my AirPods first. Even prefer them over Audio-Technica ATH-M50x and Bose QuietComfort wired headphones.

I mean, it could be your preference and choice to use the AirPods but those are not Audiophile earbuds or headphones ! Are they ?

No, nowhere near the sound of my audiophile Audio-Technica cans but still really quite good and extremely convenient and comfortable. When using them, I have no feeling of an inferior experience. If you really need sound isolation from the local environment, the AirPods won't do that but in my living room they're fine. Even with a number of choices at hand, I pick them up. As you say, it's mainly a personal preference thing - what sucks to one person is great for another and if they don't work for you, there are a lot of alternatives available.

I was also looking to buy an Airpod, and my primary uses will be watching movies and YouTube videos. Let's see how it holds up.

Thank you guys for sharing your experiences.
