Just 'upgraded' to the airpod pro 3 from the 2. I've noticed in music it has very harsh highs like cymbals in rock music. but even more annoyingly I listen to a lot of podcasts and the audio quality of those seems absolutely destroyed.

During speech the sibilant seems really noticeable, sharp harsh s and t sounds. And overall it makes the audio sound like a low quality mp3 vs the warm natural sound of the 2.

Is this just their awful new sound signature? Wondering if others notice this or if I have a defective set? or anything I can do about it.

I have both 2s and 3s and have not noticed this difference, no. Or if I have it's not all that pronounced to me.

Have you tried different tips on the APP3?

Using Custom Audio Setup, I find the APP3 to work quite well.

Check the firmware as the latest improved this for me. You may have an older firmware out-of-the-box.
