I just bought my AirPods the other day and used them for the first time today so just have one or two noob questions!

1. When I went to use them this morning, I pulled the right earbud out the case and inserted into my ear then pulled the left earbud out the case and inserted that into my ear and started to play some stuff. After a while, when I looked at the 'Batteries' section on my iPhone XS (the screen on left of the Home screen), I noticed there were 2 entries for 'Airpods'. After a few seconds though, the second entry disappeared. Was this because I pulled one out and put into my ear, follow by the second? Should I be taking both out at the same time?

2. The Green/Orange case charging light - So when it's green, does this signify the airpods are fully charged or the case is fully charged or both?! And when it then goes orange, does the case need recharging or is it just showing that it no longer as a full charge?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the AirPods world!

1) If you open your AirPod case next to the device it is paired with, it shows you the cumulative charge for both AirPods (value) and for the case (value). If you pull out one of the AirPods of their case at this point, indeed, the splash screen or “Batteries” widget will show you two separate values for each AirPod. Once they are both in your ears or in the case, it will go back to the cumulative charge for both.

2) The light on the case shows you the charge of the case’s battery. If it is green, it is fully charged, if amber - it can give your AirPods one more full charge.

Check this out, as it is a bit more visual:

Enjoy your AirPods! ✌
