AirPods 3 connect to Apple TV

Why can’t be AirPods auto connect to my appletv like do my iPhone, iPad, and Mac when I put them in my ear? I have to go to control center and connect which is annoying because I use them most often with my AppleTV. Thanks..

Interesting. I just bought an Apple TV yesterday and was pleased to have my Air Pod Pro 2's autoconnect. I can see it would be annoying to have to do the manual connection every time. Are they possibly going active on a nearby device instead?

Yes. Either Mac, iPhone, or iPad. Airpods Pro is different than AirPods 3 so maybe the Pro feature has this only.
