Since a previous pair of regular AirPods died a watery death earlier in the year I am looking to replace, and now AirPods 3 are on the scene, with the main USP being spatial audio.

I don’t have Apple Music, I still sync my iPhone to my Mac and get my music off my iTunes that way. A lot of my music will be ripped from CDs, and though it’s possible I can re-download the songs I have bought from iTunes with Spatial Audio (though the category for SA on the iTunes app just takes me to Apple Music), but I’m getting the impression it’ll be only for select songs.

Is there any point in me spending £170 for the headphones when regular AirPods will go for about £100? I’m not interested in the Pro model as I don’t like the rubber tips. Is there any other reason to pay extra? Battery life etc?

I like spatial audio for video on my AirPods Pro, its fine for audio as well but not a must have. I don’t understand how it’s going to feel for AirPods that don’t have fit like the pro with separate ear tips.

I am hoping for a better general sound, compared to AP2, as AP3 are meant to have an “adaptive EQ”, adjusting to our ear anatomy. So I am waiting for some in-depth reviews, like rtings.com, etc. They are also meant to be more water friendly than your previous pair. ?
