My AirPods this morning surprised me. Usually, when I get up in the morning and put them on, I find one of them is dead because it didn't sit right in the charging case... somehow, even though they snap into place magnetically. This morning, however, they were both dead! After popping them in and out for 10 minutes and setting the case CAREFULLY on the desk, they're both now happily charging.

Is there a trick for getting them to reliably charge? My AirPods 3 had the same issue. I can't remember if my AirPods 2 did or not (and I didn't have the original AirPods.) Do I just have a strange magnetic field in my house or something?

I had this issue with my AP2's and again with my AP4's which I purchased on account of the charging issue with the AP2. It's a poor design, Since I last cleaned my AP4 case a couple months ago I haven't had the issue return. It's quite fiddle and will come and go. I have only had the issue once with my Beats Fit Pro, in my opinion a much better designed case. I used one of those $10 dollar cleaning kits you see on Ebay that have a long foam tip and a brush.
