Hi, I'm using AirPods 4 but I keep dropping them like an idiot. I'm wondering how durable these earbuds are with hard drops. I previously had a cheap Huawei model that broke after 2-3 drops. Will I experience the same problem with these earbuds?

It's not the fall, but the shock of a sudden stop that kills people and breaks things.
To your question- I have no idea. 🙂

I got my AirPods 4 at launch and have dropped each bud and my case with or without the buds countless times in the last 20 months. They’re a bit knicked up from the falls that were on concrete, gravel, etc, but they still work great.

Yes they are very durable, I have the non ANC version and have had them pop out while on walks over concrete and no issues noted, not even scuff marks.

Had one fall out onto my patio last week and since then my ANC feels noticeably worse, but at around this time the firmware updated without me realising that I’d left everything connected for it to do so - so it’s hard to be 100% sure that the drop was the cause. I HATE 8B39 either way, the changes to the status lights do my head in. Otherwise, the drop left a tiny mark on the AirPod.

Sometimes I feel that the ANC is only working on the AirPod that stayed in - but then the noise I want blocking is on the right where I usually use them and it was the right AirPod that fell out so it may also be in my head. There has also been a hairline crack in that stem for some time now which I’ve noticed has worsened.

I have AC+ because I gave myself a fright when one fell out onto carpet the day I got them - may be worth considering if you’re still in the window to add it.

Thinking I’ll send it/them in under AC+ when Summer’s over as I use them less in Autumn/Winter anyway - but not sure what to send them in under at the moment as the battery has also felt pretty rubbish for the last month.
