Can you try AirPods at an Apple Store? I had no idea.
I don’t know. But if not, buy it and return it if you don’t like it.
Point was to not trust reviewers since they’re just paid actors.

Still don't understand how anyone keeps these things in their ears w/out falling out
The old school EarPods (wired) would always fall out of my ears. The first generation AirPods would also fall out of my ears.
I used to think I couldn't do eartip style headphones, due to bad experiences with some in the past. But then on a lark I tried the AirPods Pro 2. Not only were they super comfy, but they FINALLY stayed in my ears. I don't think I'll ever try going back to the non-eartip style earbuds.
Hopefully these new AirPods work for people who still prefer this style, but... If you haven't tried the AirPods Pro because you've had trouble with that style of earbud in the past, you should give them a try. They really are "different" than other eartip style buds.
At worst case, sell them to someone with the same name as you, problem sorted!I went ahead and preordered a pair from Apple, today. I hope they have a better fit than the AirPods 2nd gen. They weren't as good a fit as earbuds with tips but they didn't fall out of my left ear as easily as they did to Marques. I have them engraved with my initials. I hope I can still return them if they are a problem with the fit and sound?
Interesting that you assume I was talking about my own earwax! As for my undies: I‘m too discreet to comment about their state of cleanliness on a public forum.Do you complain about the skidmarks in your undies, too? Never had even the smallest amount of ear wax appear in/on my headphones.

Yes you can. I know for a fact. Can I return them (engraved case) to Apple, if I don't like them?
My only complaint about these is that the bass sounds a little exaggerated to me. All of a sudden everything is "boomy", even music that really shouldn't be.
