Hello,

I hope you guys can help me :)

I am an absolute MAC NEWBIE so please be patient with me :))

For communicating with friends and work/homeoffice I use the programs:
- Microsoft Teams
- Microsoft Skype (4 Business)
- Discord

With all those apps the sound with my Apple AirPods is not that great.
If I watch/listen to Audio (like a YouTube Video for example) and join a Meeting or Discord Channel, the overall audio quality immeaditly goes bad.

I have read a couple of threads all around the Internet and think it has something to do with the bluetooth audio profile?
But I didn't find any solution....

Can you guys help me? :)

Thank you very much in advance!

PS: I am using the new MacBook Air M1 with BigSur.

It is expected behavior, that's because of bluetooth bandwidth, it cannot handle mic and a high quality audio at the same time, so i suggest to switch to an internal mic on your macbook, if you want a decent sound quality while in a teams/skype/etc. Or another solution, is to get a wired headphones, like apple earbuds.

my AirPods Pro work great for Teams video chat on both my iPhone and MacBook. That’s the main reason I purchased them. Waiting for my Max to be delivered.

Try to listen Apple music and talk in teams at the same time, you'll regret you have a bluetooth headphones.

Use my standard AirPods (not pro) for MS-Teams, GoTo Meeting, Zoom and Google Meet. No issues with the first three, but Google Meet can be hit and miss sound quality wise.

However, doing that whilst listening to music / YouTube stuff I don't do.

For voice only, I've always found it to be fine. I wouldn't expect quality to be maintained once I start adding music into the mix as well. Is it 'unlistenable', or just lower quality?

Well, voice-only works perfectly fine, issues starts when you listen to music. It is awfully unlistenable.

Why would anybody listen to music while in a video / audio conference? I use APP all day in video / audio conference calls and other than the occasional glitch in switching between devices they work great.

I know a lot of people including myself, that do listen to a music, watching videos while in a video/audio conference. For example, we have a weekly review meeting, only one person presenting with voice, rest of people just sit quietly and listen.
