How does it actually work? I have iOS 14 and iPadOS beta 4 on my devices, but AirPods still struggle to switch. I have to set something in the settings app? How is supposed to work?

I believe this might be a bug in iOS 14 beta 4. Following. Check/search this thread out. Think others have been noticing weird BT connectivity with AirPods.

I’m wondering that too. Never got it working.

Have you tried forgetting device and repairing them?
Also, thinking if that feature isn’t available yet in the betas unless it was prior to beta 4 for you. Honestly haven’t tried this yet with my AirPods 2. More complaints in that thread about when a call comes in the AirPods are not picking up the call. Having to switch between speaker and back to AirPods under audio.

Ye, I even got brand-new AirPods few weeks ago. Furthermore, I have installed all betas clean when they were released. It looks to me as if this feature is not yet available.

So Apple has still to add this feature on the next beta releases before the final version?
